Arrowhead Studios, the developers of Helldivers, joked about the resemblance, calling it a case of ’we have Helldivers at home.’ Community manager Katherine Baskin noted the differences between the games, saying there’s room for both in the gaming world. Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani even quipped that the new Fortnite season ’feels very democratic,’ a nod to Helldivers’ lore.
