Kevin Costner Seeks Dismissal of On-Set Harassment Suit

Kevin Costner is seeking to have a judge throw out a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by stunt performer Devyn LaBella. She had claimed she was forced to participate in an unscripted and unscheduled rape scene while working as a double on Costner’s Western film series, ’Horizon.’ In new court documents, Costner’s legal team presents a starkly different account, insisting no such scene occurred.
The filing includes a text message allegedly sent by LaBella to a supervisor after filming wrapped, which reads, “Thank you for these wonderful weeks! I so appreciate you! I learned so much... I’m really happy it worked out the way it did too.” Costner’s declaration details the scene in question, describing it as a moment where actor Roger Ivens raised the hem of LaBella’s ankle-length dress and positioned himself above her in a covered wagon, but with no nudity, simulated sex, or physical contact beyond that.
Costner calls the accusations ’deeply disappointing’ and an attempt to damage his reputation. His lawyers argue the suit should be dismissed based on the evidence of a positive on-set environment, contrasting LaBella’s initial enthusiasm with her later legal claims.
